Simone Kain - the creator of beloved educational character and national agriculture day ambassador George The Farmer - joined Flow FM's Country Viewpoint with exciting details about the official opening of George The Farmer's concept store in Penola.
The store's grand opening event on Sunday November 19th will be an extension of George's national agriculture week celebrations.
Simone specified "We've got heaps of free activities for kids. We're expecting in excess of about 300 people to attend and kids can join George on a yellow brick road of educational adventures. Part of those activities will include mini tractor rides where the kids ride on little tractors in a little track made of hay bales, and at the end of that they'll get their official George the Farmer tractor licence."
"They'll be able to mill wheat into flour. We've got a sheep's fleece throwing station. They'll be able to dig for potatoes and there's lots of other different activities."
"After each activity they'll get a little stamp on their activity card and once they've completed all of the activities where they've helped George on the farm they'll be able to take that into the shop and they'll get a George The Farmer freebie and also something else special which I won't give away today for everybody who's attending but there'll be two little gifts that everybody who participates will be receiving on the day, so that's going to be really exciting."
"And of course the man of the moment George The Farmer will be there doing meet and greets with all of the kids and the opportunity to say g'day and have a photo taken with him".
