Independent grain storage and handler provider T-Ports says a Wallaroo export facility will be available next July in addition to their Lucky Bay port on the Eyre Peninsula which is receiving barley and wheat, kicking off the 2022 harvest.

Manager of business development and client relations Tim Gurney told Flow:

"Harvest has formally kicked off in the last couple of days on the Eyre Peninsula, looking at a record crop, around 4 million tonnes on the Eyre Peninsula which is massive compared to the last record in 2016 of 3.3 million tonnes - well above record, above average for the Yorke Peninsula and mid-north areas as well.
"We're seeing a bit of barley and dribs and drabs of wheat coming in now. Let's hope for a dry spell in the next 6 to 8 weeks to get the record crop in the bin."
