Dedicated Support for Buloke Businesses

Buloke Shire Council has welcomed three new members to its staff who will focus on COVIDSafe compliance in accordance with State Government requirements.

The new staff will provide practical support to businesses and the community to maintain COVIDSafe environments. The Business Concierge and Hospitality Support Program is funded by the State Government’s Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions, with the officers commencing this week.

At the heart of these roles will be the provision of support, education and information to businesses on current and future COVID restrictions as directed by the State Government.

More specifically, the Business Concierge and Hospitality Support Officers will provide local businesses with understanding the current information around COVIDSafe practices, business checkin, ID checking, physical distancing, face masks as well as cleaning and sanitising.

Mayor Cr Daryl Warren urged residents to shop local and is throwing his support behind these roles that will help ensure a safe environment for operators and customers.

“Council has been proactive during the pandemic in supporting businesses, it is again an important time to support our local operators in understanding how they can trade safely, with minimal disruption," said Cr Warren.

"These roles will be well placed, with access to the latest information to ensure Buloke

remains open safely when we are able to do so”.

Local businesses are encouraged to call a Business Concierge and Hospitality Support Officer on 1300 520 520 if they require any assistance during the pandemic or need assistance in understanding the latest State Government information.
