Australia’s dairy industry is stepping up efforts to support farmers as fuel and fertiliser supply challenges continue to escalate.

Dairy Australia says global tensions, particularly in the Middle East, are disrupting supply chains and placing sustained pressure on input costs and availability.

In response, the organisation has activated its national Issues Management Framework to coordinate action across the supply chain.

It is working alongside industry groups and government to better understand on-farm impacts and ensure farmer concerns are represented at a national level.

This includes participation in federal coordination mechanisms and high-level discussions on fuel supply affecting agriculture.

A national industry webinar will be held on March 30, providing updates on supply conditions and practical guidance for farmers planning autumn operations.

Further support measures are expected to be announced as the situation evolves.

Farmers experiencing financial or personal stress are also being encouraged to seek assistance through industry support services.
