Grassfed cattle producers are being encouraged to provide feedback as a major review of Australia's cattle transaction levy continues.

The Cattle Transaction Levy Review Committee says it is examining whether current levy arrangements remain fit for purpose and continue delivering benefits to producers across the industry.

Committee Chair Bryce Camm says the review is an opportunity to assess how levy funds are being invested and whether greater flexibility and transparency are needed.

Early consultation is already underway, with a discussion paper released outlining key principles for the review and inviting stakeholder input.

Further surveys and industry engagement activities are planned throughout July and August, with recommendations expected to be finalised later this year.

Feedback on the committee's first discussion paper closes Friday, June 12, ahead of the next phase of consultation.
