Barossa Valley Hiking group rescued from park

Local knowledge helped police to find a group of hikers lost in a Barossa park last night.

Police were called to the Kaiser Stuhl Conservation Park just after 9.30 pm on Tuesday 23 November, after a Scout group was overdue from a hike in the area.

Nuriootpa Police attended and searched the area, locating the group of four leaders and 20 children about 700 metres from the marked trail around 10.30 pm.

Police walked the party out through thick scrub in poor weather conditions to their waiting parents.

There were no reported injuries.
