Australia’s goatmeat industry has recorded its strongest year yet, with new data from Meat & Livestock Australia showing record production and exports.
The Goatmeat Global Snapshot 2025 shows exports reached 61,766 tonnes last year, up 20 per cent, while export value rose 28 per cent to 464 million dollars.
MLA Senior Market Information Analyst Emiliano Diaz says the results reflect a standout year for the sector underpinned by strong global demand.
He says Australia is consolidating its position as the world’s leading goatmeat exporter, supported by consistent supply and expanded processing capacity.
The United States remained the largest market, with South Korea, Canada and China also recording growth.
Mr Diaz says demand is being driven by consumers seeking high-protein meat options and growing interest in alternative proteins.
He says improved supply consistency is helping lift availability into foodservice and retail channels, supporting further growth for the sector.
