Secret emoji codes for parents and teens.

Parents have been sharing strategies on Reddit to help their children escape any situation with secret emoji codes.

Families have established secret emoji's to be sent from a child to a parent when they need help getting out of a situation. But parents - it must be YOUR fault. Discretion matters.

Writing under the handle r/jtboe79, the original poster (OP) shared

"He was supposed to be staying the night with a friend, so I was concerned when I get this text after I've already gone to bed. I called him and told him, 'You were supposed to unload the dishwasher before you left, now you've lost your privilege of spending the night. I'll be there in five minutes, have your stuff gathered up.'"

The teen got in the car, and the OP asked what was up.

"He said his friend's grandpa was making him feel uncomfortable, but he didn't know how to tell the friend he wanted to leave, then he thanked me for getting him out of there," wrote r/jtboe79.

Simple, easy to remember and give kids and teens the opportunity to bail out of an uncomfortable situation, while saving face.

Parents everywhere will feel more comfortable giving their kids more freedoms with this simple, secret code in place.
