Rural Aid Urges Farmers to Seek Support Amid Growing Pressures

Rural Aid is encouraging farmers across Australia to seek assistance as biosecurity threats, pest outbreaks and seasonal pressures continue to place increasing strain on farming businesses.

The organisation says producers are dealing with multiple challenges, including concerns over H5N1 avian influenza, the continued spread of varroa mite, and damaging mouse and locust activity across parts of Western Australia, South Australia and Victoria.

Chief Executive John Warlters says many farming families are being forced to manage several risks at once, creating significant pressure both on businesses and personal wellbeing.

Rural Aid says a range of assistance remains available free of charge, including financial support, hay and water deliveries, and mental health counselling for primary producers and their families.

The organisation says accessing help is straightforward and is encouraging farmers not to wait until circumstances worsen before reaching out for support.
