Oysterfest to return in 2022

Ceduna's premier tourism driver Oysterfest will return in 2022 with Ceduna Council's new Tourism Officer Malinda Moreton confirming the news last week.

The event, which celebrates the local aquaculture industry, was last held in 2019 before the pandemic hit.

Ms Moreton said with pandemic restrictions now easing, 2022 is the right time to bring back one of the Eyre peninsula's favourite events.

"The past two years have been a really difficult time for the community which has powered through on the back of positive thinking," said Malinda.
"Oysterfest will be held between the 30th of September and October 2nd and more information will start to be released early in the New Year".

Moreton also encouraged West Coast residents to support the current shop local campaign ahead of Christmas. The campaign, titled "Shop where your heart lives", aims to remind local residents to support the local businesses that support them.

"Local businesses are staunch supporters of local community organisations and sporting clubs and have earned our support," said Moreton.
"The campaign is going to run until the 10th of December which is in conjunction with the Christmas twilight shopping event which council has coordinated with the Far West Community Partnership".
